Pretty good pizza. Wish they'd put a little more sauce on the pizza.

p.s. Why do I care if you are from New York? Does being from Nebraska allow me to tell you that a steak you THOUGHT was good actually sucked?

I used to make a habit of trying every pizza place I could in Omaha, but I eventually settled on a few favorites, and Zio's has always topped my list. Ever since I moved to Omaha in 1996, I have loved eating here. I was surprised to see that the ratings for Zio's were much lower than I expected. The pizza is exactly the way I like it, a thin tasty crust loaded with a ton of cheese and great toppings. The grated parmesan on their tables still tastes fresh, not like a dried out powder that most places use, and they also have shakers of oregano and garlic on the table. They also have the wider range of topping choices that I require from any pizza shop I frequent. Over many years of pizza eating, I have been more than burned out on the same old pepperoni, sausage, hamburger and ham / canadian bacon. I need to be able to choose things like ricotta cheese, chicken, sausage links, salami, cheddar, shrimp, and fresh garlic. The service isn't as bad as people here are saying, but this not a fancy restaurant, it's a pizza shop, you order a pizza and a drink and they bring it to you. What more do you want? The people who are complaining wouldn't last 10 minutes in a real New York pizzaria.

From NYC. Just moved here last year for my job. I think all Pizza in Nebraska is mediocre, at best! One thing they do that is authentic, they are light on the cheese. Now that is is New York style!!

Franks is ok, but they seem to burn everything they touch, but good sauce.

Zios has amazing pizza, but consistently their service is terrible. dirty tables, unfriendly, slow help, . . . I am more surprised when I get adequate service which is too bad, because if they even had average service I would probably go there all the time. I love the pizza!

I've been here three times. The first time, about 2 years ago, it was awesome. I went again a couple of months ago, and it was so-so, as was the service. The last time I went, about a month ago, the food was about as bland as Dominoes, although the service was awesome.

I'll point out that Omaha is not known for gourmet anything, so it's easy to think you're getting something authentic when you actually have no idea (some people say steaks, but the best are in Texas), so I (thankfully) didn't go in with high hopes of authentic east-coast pizza.

- I'm wondering who, if anyone, actually gives out these "multiple awards" for pizza.

Sorry to be so brash - but you can't toot your own horn as much as they do and then fail to live up to it. Grrrrr...

I worked at 132nd & Center for 4 years in high school and college. Zio's was the greatest. There have been some problems with consistency over the years, but when they are on, they are amazing.

The Dodge location is awesome. Have a problem? Talk to Sharron there. She has been there forever and is usually pretty good about correcting the situation.

If you've had a bad experience, give them another chance. No, it isn't the cheapest, but usually worth it.

Probably the best pizza in town. Easily the best ranch dressing on earth. The service had been marginal for years, but a recent influx of cute, kind hippies has more than made up for it. Fantastic calzones. A little inconsistent between locations, but Dodge and downtown are a sure bet for great pie. OK beer selection.
