jag, I’m sorry you had such a bad experience. I am not an owner, manager, or associated with the pizza shoppe in anyway, except as a happy patron. I’ve been going there five or six times a year for over 10 years, and have NEVER had a bad meal. The service can be challenging at times, but that is to be expected with Generation Y. But if you don’t like, that’s just more for the rest of us who won’t have to deal with your self-righteous indignation.

As a fellow Bensonite, I would NEVER recommend this restaurant. I had to wait 45 minutes for a medium pep pizza and mozzarella sticks that were still raw. It was horrible and a frozen pizza out a box looked better than what they served us. The sauce was Chef Boyarde standard. After that wonderful experience, we paid a cover charge to listen to live music there and then after they took everybody’s money, they told the bands they couldn’t play because they were too loud and refused to give refunds. The “manager” was extremely unprofessional and wanted to get into a brawl with me, a grown woman, over refunding us our $10. He puffed his chest out and stood in my way when I tried to leave. I couldn’t beleive it. Absolutely disgusted and will NEVER DO BUSINESS THERE!!!

I love LOVE the pizza shoppe!! So much that I had my wedding reception in the party room and it was a great success! The staff are always friendly & on top of things. Favorite place in town!

The Benson Pizza Shoppe is a favorite lunch place for my co-workers and me! We love the pizza, we love the price, we love the atmosphere, & we love the service!!! :0)

All I can say is the place is like Cheers…Where everybody knows your name…..Amy has been a friend of mine since we ran around in High School and even though we have drifted apart like we all due and I moved away whenever I visit I always am treated like a special friend. Amy has one of the kindest hearts you will find around. I know (knew..miss you Kirk) both of her parents and you can see where she gets it. This is an incredible family that does great things everyday for the community. I miss you Amy…. Love Jeff Fitch and family……

The best compliment ever - BURP! I love this place! The crispy crust, the tangy tomato sauce, and the “pink stuff.” I will gladly bring my business to nice people that work hard and run a great little spot in Benson! PS. I just finished my leftovers that were supposed to be for lunch tommorrow. Guess I will have to stop back soon!

An ex-K.C. native that works with me took a few of us from work up to the P.S. over the lunch hour. It has now become one of our favorite lunch-time spots. Always great and friendly service and since I’m a thin and crispy crust type of guy, I love it. The Pink Stuff on the salads is amazing and I’ve never had a bad experience with the quality of the food. Though my buddy does tell me the ones in K.C. are a little different, it’s still some of the best pizza up here in Omaha. Beats Pizza Hut, Sam and Louie’s, and others anyday.

I am a proud Bensonite, The Pizza Shoppe & Pub may be a chain, but its always fresh, not that canned crap. The menu also has a bunch of local specialty pizzas. I know the cooks would never make anything that they wouldn’t eat and the servers would never serve anything they wouldn’t eat. If you’ve never been there or are passing through, go, its part of Omaha food everyone should try

My mom, Amy Ryan, owns the Pizza Shoppe. I have been there all my life, and im not bored. The food is healthy, so im not fat. ( Yhea!) People r nice, food is good, and you say it’s 2.5????? If i had to choose between the Shoppe and a HD tv, its the Shoppe. Go Ahead, go there, see 4 yourself. Ask if ‘Tag’ is there. I would be very happy 4 something positive.

I have known Amy for many years and I find her one of the hardest working women that I know. She is a sole proprietor of the Pizza Shoppe. Her benevolence to all is one of the reasons that people return to the “Cheers” of Omaha. The pizza is unique in that it isn’t loaded with fake meat or fake cheese. It doesn’t have to have a blotter on the bottom of the plate or in the box to soak up unnecessary grease. I have always found her ingredience to be fresh and the crust is downright delicious. It is made daily and as with any fresh yeast product, the conditions of the atmosphere can determine its tenderness. The Collective is a wonderful resource for the community and our “budding” artists can show their talents in many ways. Way to go Amy! Give our youth a chance to have a dream and a safe place for fulfilling their gifts. The combination of great food, comfortable, cozy atmosphere, child friendliness, and entertainment make this neighborhood restaurant a must to satisfy the craving for excellent PIZZA!
