The few negative comments can be attributed to a couple of things I believe. 1. The comments come from native midwesterners who have grown up on "bready" pizzas or 2...they indeed hit a night when everything was not clicking. I agree with most of the comments that this is excellent NY pizza. I have been traveling to NYC for many years and have had many great slices and pies there and have become a fan. I still have a Val's pie from time to time and I never turn down an invitation to indulge in a LaCasa's pie. These are very good but different styles of pie that many Nebraskans love. But when I need a NY slice/pie "fix", Franks is the only place in town. Don Carmelo's?, close but no cigar. Zio's?, more for the "I need broccoli and pineapple" crowd. Sam and Louies, what a waste of potential, their sauce ruins an otherwise potentially good pie. Not an offensive sauce but just not your great tomato sauce. Everyone has their own perspective when it comes to good pizza or their favorite pizza. Frank's certainly is deserving of being rated the best NY style in Omaha. Over the last several months, I have noticed a change in the work force which has negatively impacted the quality of food and service. I might go once every 4 months now. I keep hoping it will get better, but it continues to disappoint. I have had pizza from NYC to LA and all points in between. Frank’s used to be the BEST pizza I have ever had. The pizza took forever, like maybe Frank had to run out the back and to the grocery store, and was marginal at best when it finally arrived. Crappy beer selection.
