This is one of my favorite pizzas, and a hidden gem. This is the one I tell my friends about, and they come back raving about how good it was. It's hidden in the back of a bar, and it's a little confusing knowing where to place the order, but after you figure it out, you can relax with a beer at the bar while it cooks. It really is some fantastic pizza, and just thinking about it makes me want to drive down the street and pick some up right now!

I used to work at Papa Murphy's and we had heart shaped take-n-bake pizzas there. Perfect for a romantic pizza dinner at home. Haha.

This is one is a mixed bag. I have been here a couple of times while I lived down the street from it, and it was good. If all I was interested in was the taste of the pizza, this place would have easily made it into my top 5. The prices are what keep me away, though. I won't pay $17 plus tax for an large 1-topping pizza. Seriously, an 18" pizza is $14.95 plus $1.95 per topping. I take this as their way of pressuring people into buying their gourmet pizzas, which you would generally pay $18.95 for, but at least they generally have multiple toppings. I'd have to say that this is a place to try just to have tried it, but I wouldn't make a habit of eating here.

When I go to a pizzeria, I go for the pizza, and I don't order anything else until I've eaten there many, many times. A few of the comments here mention Fred's other foods, and maybe they are good at cooking things that aren't pizza. But for pizza, Fred's is to be avoided at absolutely ALL COSTS. I have tried it a total of three times in the 14 years I have lived in Omaha, to give it the opportunity to change and impress me, but none of those three times have I actually been able to finish my meal. This is absolutely the worst pizza I have ever tasted. They make the big pizza chains taste like gourmet. The experience of eating at Big Fred's was emotionally scarring, to the point where I get nauseous just driving by their building.

I used to make a habit of trying every pizza place I could in Omaha, but I eventually settled on a few favorites, and Zio's has always topped my list. Ever since I moved to Omaha in 1996, I have loved eating here. I was surprised to see that the ratings for Zio's were much lower than I expected. The pizza is exactly the way I like it, a thin tasty crust loaded with a ton of cheese and great toppings. The grated parmesan on their tables still tastes fresh, not like a dried out powder that most places use, and they also have shakers of oregano and garlic on the table. They also have the wider range of topping choices that I require from any pizza shop I frequent. Over many years of pizza eating, I have been more than burned out on the same old pepperoni, sausage, hamburger and ham / canadian bacon. I need to be able to choose things like ricotta cheese, chicken, sausage links, salami, cheddar, shrimp, and fresh garlic. The service isn't as bad as people here are saying, but this not a fancy restaurant, it's a pizza shop, you order a pizza and a drink and they bring it to you. What more do you want? The people who are complaining wouldn't last 10 minutes in a real New York pizzaria.

WOW I would agree on the service part of your comments, but the pizza on the other had is the BEST in Omaha! The wings are the BEST in town too! Ask for the private reserve sauce if you like really hot! My favorite is Private Reserve Jamican Jerk wings Baked!

Big Fred's is just a pile of cheese on mushy crust. I can get the same thing at Pizza Hut. There are way better pizza places in Omaha. My Italian grandmother thinks Big Fred's is boring American pizza.
