Pep-C and Veg-E enjoyed a night out with one of our favorite couples - a delicious evening of conversation and Dante’s pizza.  If you haven’t been, it’s time to go and if you have been, it’s time to go back.  Dante’s pizza is neapolitan style and they are committed to buying ingredients from local farmers.  The food is fresh and simple - you won’t be disappointed.  My suggestions include the Cortona, Guiseppe, or the Cinque Formaggi pizzas.  Not the spot to take your second-grader’s basketball team after the championship game.  Perfect for groups of 2 - 6.  Linger over a glass of wine and dessert.  Reservations available through OpenTable!

Many of you probably have losing weight/getting healthier/exercising more as part of your New Year’s resolution.  That can be hard to balance with a love of pizza!  Some helpful strategies from PizzaOmaha — order the thin(ner) crust, load on the veggies, ask for light cheese, cut out the soda/beer/wine.

Another Omaha classic - Orsi’s Italian Bakery & Pizzeria

I must admit that my overall opinion of Orsi’s is a little tainted although due to no fault of theirs.  Pep-C and I took a trip down to 6th & Pacific to check out Orsi’s on numerous recommendations from PizzaOmaha groupies.  We took our large pizza pie over to the Heartland of America park for a picnic - awhh, how romantic.  Before you get too cheesed out, we had the most ridiculous fight.  Some of that Italian fire must have rubbed off on us.  The only good thing about the whole experience was - you guessed it - the pizza!  If you haven’t been to Orsi’s, what are you waiting for?  First-timers, this is not a restaurant so plan on calling in and picking up your order to go.  Feeding a crowd? - you can’t go wrong with The Sheet.  And don’t forget the cannolis!
